About

Hi, my name is Nate. Thanks for stopping by Fearless Endeavors.

I suppose this is the part where I tell you how I’ve overcome insane obstacles in my life and have come out the other end a newer, better, more fulfilled ‘me.’ You know, taking names, kicking ass and all the sort of stuff that comes from taking the world by storm and not living life by conventional standards.

Well, that’s not me…..yet. I’m pretty normal by conventional standards. In fact, I may just be like you. I have a good job that I go to every day. I have an amazing wife and lovely yellow lab. We live in Chicago, which is a truly awesome city. I love to cook, travel, read, hang out with my dog, get outdoors to bike and run, drink a good single malt scotch, try out new restaurants, and chill out after a long day of work. See….normal.

So, here’s the deal. At times I feel too normal. Don’t get me wrong here, I have a great life by anyone’s standards. However, more and more I’ve been really thinking about life. The impermanence of it. How quickly it goes by. The way people live it, almost walking down this fixed path set in stone since their day of birth. I’m starting to question this and I want to explore it.

Maybe you feel the same way. Maybe there’s some nagging feeling inside you that something is wrong or something is missing, but you don’t know how to articulate it or are afraid of articulating it because you don’t want to sound like you’re complaining. Maybe you feel trapped in a perpetual state of ‘non-doing.’ A passenger looking out the window watching life go by instead of the driver controlling where you go. I get it. I understand what you’re going through and I want to help.

About Fearless Endeavors

Here’s my mission and yours if you choose to accept it:

Treat life as an experiment. Live uncomfortably. Face your fears head on and ruthlessly strive to overcome them.

Fear has such a ridiculous hold over many people’s lives and it’s certainly invaded my life. We’re so wrapped up in what other people think of us – our opinions, our looks, our clothes, our jobs and our life. It can cripple you and inhibit you from making progress in your life.

I want to help you overcome this. I want you to open up to the possibility of actively experiencing life instead of passively watching it go by. This means:

  • Questioning ingrained assumptions and beliefs that you have about what life is and how you should live it.
  • Opening up to new possibilities and getting outside of your comfort zone.
  • Treating life as an experiment, not as a finished book that can’t be changed.
  • Listening more to your ‘gut’ rather than the endless chatter of your ego.

You don’t have to follow a prescribed path to achieve success in your life. In fact, it’s just that attitude and way of viewing the world that will keep you stuck in the same patterns and way of doing things. Life is really a series of never ending forks in the road. So, let’s start exploring the roads less traveled.

Do not be too timid and squeamish about your actions. All life is an experiment. The more experiments you make the better. What if they are a little course, and you may get your coat soiled or torn? What if you do fail, and get fairly rolled in the dirt once or twice. Up again, you shall never be so afraid of a tumble. ~Ralph Waldo Emerson
