Wisdom for the Day: Contentment

“Contentment is key.  If you have contentment, without material things, you are truly rich.  Without it, even if you are a billionaire, you will not have happiness.”

- Dalai Lama

What a wonderful reminder to meditate on.  As you go through your day, contemplate the source of contentment.  What does it mean to you?  Can you look within and realize that true contentment, peace and happiness comes from within and not from any external source?

Although this may be difficult at times, I think that we can always look within to find this contentment, even if you’re feeling down and out.  Take a few minutes today to just sit and be.  Let go of any thoughts, and worries that may be permeating through your mind.

Revel in the life you are living.  Take time to appreciate the simple fact that it’s quite amazing to simply be alive.

Feel free to share what contentment means to you in the comments.  As always, I’d love to hear from you.
